Passion for BBQ

Rub’n’Meats BBQ is a competition team out of San Antonio, Texas, led by good friends and pitmasters Izaak Castillo and Cris Esquivel. What started as weekend cookouts turned into a full-blown passion for chasing smoke, perfecting recipes, and showing up strong on the BBQ circuit.

Whether it’s ribs, brisket, or steak, Izaak and Cris put their heart into every cook blending South Texas flavor with old-school technique and a whole lot of grit. For them, it’s not just about trophies (though they don’t mind collecting a few); it’s about community, good food, and representing San Antonio with pride.
